Energy Transition Strategy
Energy Transition Strategy

Our energy transition strategy is designed to create more value with less emissions.

Schlau Energy's target to become a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050 remains fundamental to our transition strategy. This target supports the more ambitious goal of the Paris Agreement, to limit the rise in the global average temperature to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

Our commitment to net zero requires us to reduce emissions from our operations and energy solutions while delivering value for the company and shareholders. Our energy transition strategy covers our Integrated Gas, Upstream and Downstream, Renewables and Energy Solutions.

As we set out a clear strategy to net zero, we recognize that our biggest customers operate in transport and industrial sectors. Schlau Energy will leverage these markets and set out transition pathways that offer competitive advantages to provide our customers with the products they need through the transition.

Emmision Reduction for consummers

Schlau Energy intends to drive decarbonisation of transport leveraging the regional strength of her brand, increasing market share and great customer relationships. We will continue to make investments in public charging networks for electric vehicles. We have intensified research and collaborative initiatives to become a major player in blending and distribution of biofuels.

Progressively, we anticipate to supply more low-carbon products and solutions, and less oil products. Consquently, we have set a performance objective to reduce customer emissions from the use of our oil products by 15% by 2035.

It is very clear that the world desires a stable and systematic transition away from high carbon solutions (fossil fuels) to sustain secure energy supplies, while accelerating the transition to affordable low-carbon solutions. We have continued to invest in natural gas development to provide much needed transition fuel.

Emission reduction for Customers

Research and Development funding in carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and renewable energy will help us produce lower carbon energy products for the future. As we set out to grow our trading business, it will open a new vista to link the supply of low-carbon energy to demand. Schlau Energy will continue to work towards net zero, while making clear choices about where most value for our investors and customers is required.

Based on available data, renewable power will be critical for the decarbonization of the commercial sector, while we ramp-up commitments in integrated power projects in the Gulf of Guinea and other regions.
